ABOUT US

During 1982-1999, the Department of Geology and Mining was established at Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC) under the support of former Soviet Union (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics), but in 1999, the department was downgraded due to the limits of job market. In response to the emerging need on the development and management of natural resources in Cambodia and under the recommendations of the Royal Government of Cambodia to re-open the department of Geology, ITC established a new department namely "Department of Geo-resources and Geotechnical Engineering (GGE)” under supports of Japanese government for the sustainable human resources development in the field of Geo-resources and Geotechnical Engineering. In 2010, the department was approved by Board of Consortium and Board of Trustee of ITC and then launched its 1st academic year from 2011-2012. In 2017, the department was upgraded to Faculty of Geo-resources and Geotechnical Engineering.
